Matt Coggins is a performing artist and designer currently working in
New York City.
Matt is from Flint, Michigan, and has worked in theatre since a young age, getting his start at the alternative community-based Buckham Alley Theatre. He attended the University of Michigan-Flint, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre and Graphic Design.
Matt is currently the Sound and Video Supervisor for Columbia University's performance space in the Manhattanville campus.
He has worked on and off the stage with The Acting Company (NYC), Musical Theatre Heritage (Kansas City, MO), The Barn Players (Mission, KS), Flint Repertory Theatre / Flint Youth Theatre, OhR'lyeh Theatre Company, and the University of Michigan-Flint. His theatre experience includes performance, directing, sound design and operation, carpentry, and box office.
Matt is also an aspiring comedian and podcaster. Past and current projects include music podcast Arctic Sounds and a Bernie Sanders-driven news satire show.
In addition, Matt is an active musician and composer, with projects including alt-rock band Earl Grey, improvised instrumental group Space Macs, and Zepwhotles, a cover band. He has played a variety of instruments as well as producing full-length studio albums and EPs for various projects.
